Last week was Haloween, and for the first time in a long time I did not go out. The local pubs had got dull and getting the train to and from Manchester just seemed too much like hard work, as it turns out a local pub with (relatively) new management had a do on and I should have gone there. but I didn’t let that stop me from dressing up, we went to “Spooky Park” at the park across the road and had some fun.
Even The DOGta Donna had a costume, but no one knocked on our door to see it. 😦
Now, on to the yarn.
Rico Designs Essential Cotton.
If you didn’t know I love this cotton, the colours available are simply wonderful, it feels nice to work with, and has lovely stitch definition. It does get a bit splitty but that is a problem with most cottons and right handed crochet, if you are left handed you won’t have that problem.
I have two patterns written specifically with this yarn
As they are more than likely going to get chewed I use Rico cotton because I have the CE certificates for it, and cotton is just better able to withstand that kind of treatment.
And my new pattern Blip Panda
My previous Amigurumi have been made with acrylic and I wanted to try cotton for stitch definition, I am very happy with how it turned out and it made my photos stand out better.
I will be making more Blops over the next few months, but for now I am working on two big patterns. These patterns will need testing, so if you fancy a go at pattern testing pop over to my Facebook group where I will be releasing more information.
